The International Charitable Foundation "Health of Ukrainian People" – is the first Ukrainian Charitable Foundation which implements the leadership and innovative programs aimed to improve the medical services quality and accessibility. The Foundation was created in December 2009 by the American and Ukrainian benefactors’ initiative. The ICF "Health of Ukrainian People" is a Partner of The Eurasian’s Initiative for Patients’ Safety, National Medical Award, is an Actual Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, is a Signer of the Ukrainian network of the UN Global Agreement, and as well is a Friend and one of the sponsors of the Ukrainian Catholic University. |
The Foundation is a nonprofit organization and has a right to accomplish charitable activities over Ukraine, USA and other countries in cooperation with Medical Institutions, National and Municipal executive authorities, businesses and nonprofit community organizations.
What We Do:
Creation of Endowment - Funds. Research of the Endowment topic, its promotion among the potential sponsors, donors, beneficiaries and partners. Developing of the programs and processes to create and use of endowment for such sectors: health, education, culture, environment, local communities;
Humanitarian Aid. Creation of a MEDFARMBANK (medicines, medical devices and medical equipment) social expertise of beneficiaries, the transfer of charity in the form of medicines and medical equipment.
Educational activities. Training programs in English for doctors and medical personnel aimed to improve the communication skills between Ukrainian doctors and foreign visitors, education of medical institutions’ administrators in leading international health centers;
Promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Development of Volunteerism, implementation of ecological, social projects and programs aimed to raise public awareness and responsible attitude to the environment and their physical and moral health.
Social Partnership. The development of responsible cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign leaders - representatives of government, private sector and NGOs – for effective solution of the most urgent problems of Ukrainian society. The development of philanthropy, charity, leadership programs and projects.
SOME PROJECTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CHARITABLE FOUNDATION "HEALTH OF UKRAINIAN PEOPLE"
"Be happy and healthy!" Action – the event was held April 18, 2010 within the holding of the WHO Action "1000 cities - 1000 lives," dedicated to the World Health Day. In a framework of event the ICF "HEALTHUP" set up two sites "Happiness", one of which held competition in break-dance, and at the second-one the Ukrainian show business, television, politics and sports celebrities assimilated the elements of graffiti art. "Stars’" participants signed a "Declaration of healthy, public and successful people," and thus confirmed their wish to promote healthy lifestyles and make a significant contribution to the development of public charity. The "Evening Fundraising School". Since September 2010 the "Evening Fundraising Schools" Project is held. The Project is specifically designed for the public organizations employees, the chief doctors, their deputies and all those who are interested in methodology and rules of resources engagement. Through the trainings series the participants learn how to plan fundraising campaigns and charitable activities, write motivating letters to sponsors, conduct negotiations with donors, build budgets, prepare projects and others (http://healthup.org.ua/ua/news/school-otchet-14102010/ )
The Charity Event"Vitamins for a child" to St. Nicholas, New Year and Christmas Holidays (MEDFARMBANK). Kids of boarding schools, orphanages and poor families in 10 regions of Ukraine received vitamins for disease prevention and immunity improvement. During this charity event was given 3,352 bottles of the Kiddy "PHARMATONE®" Multivitamins for a total of 143,000 UAH. The Action was supported by 14 non-governmental organizations that provide assistance to disabled children and children from the poor families (http://healthup.org.ua/ua/news/kiddiforchildren/).With the aim of further implementation of such projects there was drafted the "MEDFARMBANK" Project which will promote the transfer of medicines, medical devices and medical equipment to those who are in need.
The Action "Step Towards Life"- since April 26, 2011 there held the monthly fundraising action purposed for organized collection of resources needed for the Exclusion Zone recreation, improvement of Ukrainian hospitals associated with the Chernobyl disaster victims’ treatment and for involvement into the action of all concerned Ukrainians as private and corporate sectors. Action is held within the UN General Assembly Resolution, the Supreme Council of Ukraine Resolution, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich Initiative about the liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl disaster and in response to the founder of the Foundation "Development of Ukraine" Rinat Akhmetov decision to allocate $ 1 million to support the "Shelter”Project.
